Where to stay in Hoi An: hotels for 2026
Hoi An has 600-plus places to stay — from $10 hostel beds to five-star resorts with a golf course. The town is tiny: it is only 2.5 km from the centre to An Bang Beach. Here the choice comes down less to budget and more to what you want from the trip.

The average nightly rate in Hoi An is $63–93 depending on season. For comparison, the same standard in Nha Trang runs 20–30% higher. February is the cheapest month to book; April is the price peak.

Where to stay — Hoi An's neighbourhoods

Hoi An is a small town. No metro, no suburbs, no "bad areas." But the gap between a hotel in Old Town and a villa by the beach is real: think of it as the difference between a flat downtown and a cottage in the countryside.
- Old Town (Phố cổ Hội An): Boutique hotels from ~$20/night — Walk to every sight
- An Bang Beach (Bãi biển An Bàng): Beach hotels from ~$31/night — 2.5 km from the centre
- Cam Thanh (Cẩm Thanh): Villas and resorts, coconut forest — 3 km from the centre
- Cua Dai (Cửa Đại): Budget beach zone — Hotels from ~$19/night
- Nam Hoi An (Nam Hội An): Vinpearl Resort 5-star from ~$69 — 17 km from the centre
Old Town — in the thick of it
For those here for the atmosphere. Yellow walls, lanterns, a café on every corner — all on foot. Hotels come in boutique form: small, often family-run, with rooftop terraces. Rates start around ~$20/night for a simple room and reach ~$125 for a boutique with a pool.
Downsides: noisy in the evenings (crowds, music), narrow lanes, nowhere to park a scooter. In October and November Old Town can flood as the river spills over its banks.
Good for: couples, photographers, anyone in Hoi An for a night or two.
An Bàng Beach — for a beach stay
2.5 km from Old Town — 10 minutes by bike. An Bànghas made TripAdvisor's top-10 beaches in Asia. It is quieter than the centre, and in the morning the sand is almost empty. Stays range from guesthouses to boutique resorts, from ~$31/night.
Downsides: things close early, and it is a 15-minute Grab ride into the Old Town nightlife (about 20,000 VND / ~$0.80).
Good for: families with kids, beach lovers, longer stays.
Cẩm Thanh — nature and quiet
A village 3 km southeast of the centre. Coconut forest, rice paddies, crickets instead of karaoke. This is where people go for the "real Vietnam" without the tourist crush. Villas and small resorts from ~$37/night.
Good for: expats, yoga retreats, digital nomads.
Cửa Đại — the budget beach
4 km from the centre. It was once Hoi An's main beach, but coastal erosion damaged part of the shore. On the plus side, prices are lower than An Bàng, and boats leave from here to the Cham Islands. From ~$19/night.
Nam Hoi An — the Vinpearl world
17 km south of town. A universe of its own: Vinpearl Resort & Golf (5-star), the VinWonders theme park, a River Safari, an 18-hole golf course. If you are not set on walking the Old Town every day, it is a spot for a relaxed family holiday.
Luxury 5-star resorts

A 5-star in Hoi An is cheaper than in most of Southeast Asia. A room at Vinpearl starts around $69/night. The same standard in Bali runs at least $150.
Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An
The region's best-known resort. 17 km south of Hoi An on its own beach. 485 rooms and villas, three restaurants, a spa, a kids' club, an 18-hole golf course. Guests get access to VinWonders and the River Safari.
| Price/night | from ~$69 |
|---|---|
| To Old Town | 17 km |
| Beach | Private |
| Pools | 2 (adult + kids) |
| Highlight | Golf + VinWonders + Safari |
Four Seasons The Nam Hai
One of the most expensive resorts in Vietnam. Hà My beach is empty, wide and white-sand. 100 villas, three infinity pools, a spa, a cooking academy. From ~$300/night. This is the pick for world-class service. Old Town is 6 km away, so you will need transport.
Anantara Hoi An Resort
A rare location — right on the edge of Old Town, by the Thu Bồn river. Step out of the hotel and you are at the Japanese Bridge in five minutes. Yet the grounds stay quiet, with a tropical garden and a pool. The four-hands massage at the spa is a signature. From ~$125/night.
Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa
5 km from town, between river and sea. Colonial-style architecture, a private beach, two pools, a restaurant over the water. A good balance of price and quality — from ~$81/night.
Skip the airport queue in 5–10 min
In winter, immigration lines run 60–90 min. With Fast Track you’re met at the aircraft and taken through the priority lane. Arrange it before you fly.
Telegram managerThe best boutique hotels (3-4 star)

Boutiques are Hoi An's strong suit. Small town, small hotels: 20–50 rooms, designer interiors, personal attention. For $40–75/night you get a level that would cost three times as much in Europe.
La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Retreat
Set among rice fields, minutes from Old Town. Two pools, a spa, a restaurant looking out over the paddies. Spacious rooms with balconies. Free shuttle to Old Town and the beach. From ~$80/night.
Little Riverside Hoi An
A 5-minute walk from Old Town, on the riverbank. The design mixes French colonial with Vietnamese style. Rooftop pool over the tiled roofs. Free bikes. From ~$62/night.
Allegro Hoi An — Little Luxury Hotel & Spa
400 metres from the Japanese Bridge. Free bikes and a shuttle to An Bàng Beach. High-ceilinged rooms with wooden shutters — the classic Hoi An look. From ~$50/night.
Fivitel Hoi An Hotel (4-star)
A new hotel in the Cẩm An area. Modern design, a pool, a good breakfast. Between Old Town and the beach — handy if you want both. From ~$40/night.
Budget hotels and guesthouses

Hoi An is one of the cheapest places to stay in Vietnam. For ~$19–31/night you get a clean room with air-con, hot water and Wi-Fi. Plenty of guesthouse owners help with tickets, tours and a scooter for free.
Hoian Central Hotel (3-star, Old Town). A pool, a 10-minute walk to the Japanese Bridge. From ~$25/night. One of the best value-for-location picks.
Anio Boutique Hotel (3-star, Cẩm Phổ). Stylish aqua-toned rooms, a shuttle to the beach and Old Town. From ~$40/night — on the line between "budget" and "boutique."
Thanh Van 1 Hotel (2-star, Old Town). Basic but clean. Air-con, Wi-Fi, hot water. The owner helps with tours. From ~$20/night.
Hostels. Dorm beds from ~$8–10/night. Popular ones: Tribee Kinh Hostel, Cucina Hostel. Good for backpackers.
Beach hotels — An Bàng and Cửa Đại

If your idea of a holiday is a morning coffee with a sea view, pick An Bàng or Cửa Đại. Old Town is 10–15 minutes away by bike.
An Bàng Beach
Hoi An's best beach zone. Top hotels:
- Coco River Resort — on the riverbank, 5 minutes to the beach, with a pool. From ~$44
- An Bang Seaside Village — simple bungalows by the sea. From ~$27
- Under the Coconut Tree — atmospheric, with hammocks and a bar. From ~$25
Cửa Đại Beach
Cheaper than An Bàng, though part of the shore has suffered erosion. On the upside, ferries to the Cham Islands leave from here.
- Wyndham Royal Beachfront (5-star) — all-inclusive, private beach. From ~$100

Frequently asked questions

Where should I stay — the centre or the beach?
It depends on the trip. Old Town if you are here for a day or two and want the atmosphere. An Bàng Beach if the sea matters and you are happy to cycle 10 minutes into the centre. Many travellers split it: two nights in Old Town, two nights by the beach.
How much does a hotel cost per night?
From about $10 for a hostel bed to ~$310 for a luxury resort. A typical 3-4 star boutique runs $40–75/night. Hoi An is one of the best-value coastal towns in Vietnam.
Do I need to book in advance?
In peak season (June–August, holidays) yes, two to three months ahead. The rest of the year you can book a week out or on the spot — guesthouses often have rooms.
Are there hotels with a pool at a reasonable price?
A pool is standard even for 3-star hotels. Hoian Central Hotel (from ~$25) and Anio Boutique (from ~$40) both have one. At 4-star boutiques a pool is almost a given.
Is it safe to stay in Old Town during the floods?
From October to November the streets can flood. Ground floors may take 30–100 cm of water. Hotels are used to it — furniture goes up, guests move to higher floors. To avoid the risk, pick An Bàng Beach or Cẩm An, which sit higher.
Vinpearl Nam Hoi An — is it worth going that far out?
It is 17 km from town, about 25 minutes by taxi. The resort is built for a self-contained stay: beach, pools, VinWonders, restaurants, golf. If you are not planning to walk the Old Town every day, it is a great pick, especially with kids.
