Aeroflot and charter flights to Vietnam: routes, baggage and the winter 2026/27 schedule

Aeroflot flights to Vietnam serve three cities this winter: Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and, from 15 October 2026, Phu Quoc. The new Moscow–Phu Quoc route opens twice a week and goes to three weekly flights from 25 October. The charter side moved faster. On 6 October AZUR air cancelled its winter flights to Nha Trang from seven Russian cities. Below: who flies where, on which days, what you can carry, and where to double-check before you pay.

As of early October 2026, Aeroflot's scheduled flights to Vietnam land at three airports: Cam Ranh (the airport for Nha Trang), Tân Sơn Nhất in Ho Chi Minh City and, from 15 October, Phu Quoc. According to TASS on 2 October, Ho Chi Minh City is served from Moscow, while Nha Trang also gets flights from Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok (fomag.ru citing TASS, in Russian).

Vladivostok comes with a footnote. In an Aeroflot post from 8 September 2026, Nha Trang is listed among destinations from Vladivostok with the note "including flights operated by Rossiya and Aurora" (Aeroflot post, in Russian). Both are Aeroflot Group airlines, so the aircraft and crew on your ticket may not be Aeroflot's own. The operating carrier shows on the flight card before you pay.

There isn't much on aircraft, but what there is comes from the airline. Phu Quoc gets an Airbus A330 in two classes. When Aeroflot launched Yekaterinburg–Nha Trang in September 2025, it also used wide-body A330s (post of 18 Aug 2025). TASS reported on 30 January 2026 that Aeroflot would raise Moscow–Nha Trang from seven to nine weekly flights from 7 March 2026, on an A350 with three cabins (alta.ru citing TASS, in Russian). That is last spring's data; the airline has not said whether that frequency holds for winter 2026/27.

As of 7 October 2026 we found no official winter 2026/27 frequencies for Moscow–Nha Trang or Moscow–Ho Chi Minh City, and no Aeroflot flights to Hanoi or Da Nang in the airline's announcements; TASS wrote on 2 October that Aeroflot serves two destinations in Vietnam. Check frequencies for your dates in the aeroflot.ru search. Airport details are in our guides to flights to Nha Trang and flights to Ho Chi Minh City.

Aeroflot opens its nonstop Moscow–Phu Quoc route on 15 October 2026. For the first ten days it runs twice a week, then three times a week from 25 October until the end of the winter schedule, as the airline's announcement quoted by ATOR and TASS puts it (ATOR, 2 Oct 2026).

The aircraft is an Airbus A330 in a two-class layout, Economy and Business. There is no Comfort cabin on this route.

Phu Quoc is an island in the Gulf of Thailand. After Vietnam merged its provinces on 1 July 2025, it belongs to An Giang province, so newer documents show that address. The airport has not changed: Phu Quoc International, code PQC.

Phu Quoc is Aeroflot's third Vietnamese destination, and charters fly to the same island this winter (more on them below). For what to do once you land, see our Phu Quoc travel guide; all ways to get there, including connections, are in flights to Phu Quoc.

Aeroflot baggage and carry-on allowance

Weight and size limits come from the fare, not the route. Photo: Dimitri Karastelev, Unsplash
Checked-baggage allowance depends on the fare and is listed in the fare conditions on aeroflot.ru. Below is only what Aeroflot itself has published on its official channel. Data as of October 2026.

Aeroflot's carry-on allowance is one piece up to 10 kg within 55×40×25 cm. On top of that you can bring a bag or backpack up to 5 kg with the three dimensions adding up to no more than 80 cm. That comes from an Aeroflot post of 25 August 2026, which also says checked baggage follows "the fare you choose" (Aeroflot post, in Russian).

Aeroflot's posts mention Economy Lite, Optimum and Maximum and Business Basic, Optimum and Maximum fares (post of 1 Apr 2026); which of them are sold on your flight shows when you book. Aeroflot has fares both with and without checked baggage (post of 9 Sep 2026). Whether a suitcase is included, and how heavy, shows at the fare-selection step before payment. If the search shows several fares, compare the price with baggage included.

If your bag is not in the fare or comes out overweight, you can add it:

  • through the chatbot on the website or app: an extra piece of 23 or 32 kg (post of 25 Nov 2025);
  • at the check-in desk, paying by card or biometrics without a trip to the ticket office (post of 30 Jul 2026).

Fruit is the classic souvenir from Vietnam. Aeroflot allows it in both carry-on and checked bags, with one specific tip about coconuts:

It's better to check a coconut in your hold baggage: there is liquid inside and the contents can't be reliably checked in advanceAeroflot official channel, t.me/aeroflot_official, 25 Aug 2026, translated from Russian

Import rules for fruit at your destination are a separate matter, and Aeroflot's own post advises checking them before you fly. Check them before you buy a box of mangoes at the market.

The nonstop Moscow–Nha Trang flight takes about 10 hours, with two full meals on board. That is how Aeroflot described the route at launch in 2025 (post of 17 Feb 2025). Flights from Siberia and the Far East are shorter; check the exact time for your flight in the schedule.

Ten hours is a long time in an Economy seat, and Aeroflot sells a few paid extras for it:

  • Sleep+, a block of three or four Economy seats so you can lie down;
  • Space+, seats with extra legroom;
  • an upgrade to Business when seats are free;
  • "Menu to order", extra dishes.

Availability and price depend on the flight and aircraft. Aeroflot has described Sleep+ as available on long-haul flights out of Sheremetyevo (post of 29 Aug 2025), so don't count on it from regional cities.

Flight times from other cities, including connections via Istanbul, Dubai and China, are in our guide to direct and connecting flights to Vietnam.

How much Aeroflot tickets to Vietnam cost

There is no fixed price for an Aeroflot ticket to Vietnam: it depends on the date, the fare and how many seats are left. For reference, here are prices the airline and ATOR (the Association of Tour Operators of Russia) have published, each with its date and condition.

The gap between 57,000 and 105,000 roubles makes the main point: the lowest launch fare and a November return fare with baggage are different things.

Charter flights from Russia to Vietnam in winter 2026/27

In tour-operator and ATOR announcements as of 7 October 2026 we found winter 2026/27 charters from Russia to Vietnam by Ikar, VietJet Air and Sun PhuQuoc Airways; AZUR air cancelled Nha Trang on 6 October. Tour operators buy seats on these flights in blocks and sell them inside package tours. According to ATOR, five tour operators fly tourists to Phu Quoc this winter: FUN&SUN, PEGAS Touristik, Coral Travel, Anex and Intourist (ATOR, 2 Oct 2026).

Ikar: Nha Trang and Phu Quoc

Coral Travel's winter Nha Trang programme uses Ikar flights from seven cities: Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and Saint Petersburg. Flights run from late October 2026 to early or mid-April 2027, once a week from Moscow. The aircraft is a Boeing 777-200 with a hot meal, and the free allowance is 10 kg of checked baggage plus 10 kg of carry-on (Coral Travel press release, 15 Apr 2026, in Russian). That was an April announcement, so confirm the exact date in your tour.

To Phu Quoc, Ikar flies for PEGAS Touristik. First flights: from Yekaterinburg on 21 October, Novosibirsk on 27 October, Krasnoyarsk on 30 October and Moscow on 31 October (ATOR, 13 Jul 2026).

VietJet Air: Phu Quoc from eleven cities

Under the Anex programme, VietJet Air flies to Phu Quoc from Barnaul, Blagoveshchensk, Novokuznetsk, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Ufa, Vladivostok, Irkutsk and Yekaterinburg. Intourist also sells tours on these flights (ATOR, 11 Sep 2026).

Vladivostok–Phu Quoc is already running: the first flight operated on 2 October. It goes once or twice a week on an Airbus A321neo with a technical stop of about half an hour in Hanoi (ATOR, 2 Oct 2026). A narrow-body jet and a stop in Hanoi is the trade-off for not routing through Moscow. What to expect on board is covered in our VietJet Air review.

Separately from the Phu Quoc programme, VietJet Air has flown Sheremetyevo to Cam Ranh (flight VJ5074) under the Anex programme since 23 September 2026: three times a week for now, with five a week promised from January 2027 by Anex and the airport operator ACV (Tiền Phong, 24 Sep 2026; ACV, 24 Sep 2026).

Sun PhuQuoc Airways: the newcomer at Sheremetyevo

Sun PhuQuoc Airways is based on Phu Quoc, and Moscow is its first Russian route. From 14 November 2026 to the end of March it flies from Sheremetyevo to Phu Quoc six times a week for Anex and Intourist. The cabin has Economy, Comfort and Business. The flight takes 9 h 45 min outbound and 10 h 55 min back, with 15 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg of carry-on (ATOR, 11 Sep 2026).

As of 11 September, tours on these flights started at 257,200 RUB (~$3,260) for 7 nights in a 2-star hotel without meals, departing 17 November; the announcement doesn't say whether that is per person or for two (same source).

AZUR air: Nha Trang cancelled

On 14 September AZUR air announced winter flights to Nha Trang from seven cities: Moscow, Mineralnye Vody, Tyumen, Omsk, Perm, Samara and Chelyabinsk (AZUR air press office). Three weeks later the plan was dropped:

Flights to Nha Trang from seven cities will not take place. The airline's fleet will be redeployed to other destinations.AZUR air press office, t.me/azurair_pressroom, 6 Oct 2026, translated from Russian

If you bought a tour with AZUR air flights to Nha Trang, the airline asks you to contact your tour operator to rebook. AZUR air did fly to Phu Quoc last winter (AZUR air press office, 17 Mar 2026). For this winter ATOR listed it among Phu Quoc carriers in August (ATOR, 21 Aug 2026), but AZUR air's own winter announcement from Moscow does not include Phu Quoc (AZUR air press office, 8 Sep 2026). If a tour operator offers such a flight, ask about its status.

Who is not on the list

For Nordwind and Red Wings we found no winter 2026/27 Vietnam programmes in announcements as of 7 October 2026, so they are not in the table. That doesn't mean they don't fly: according to tour operator Spectrum, Red Wings carried tourists to Vietnam in the first half of 2026 (ATOR, 27 Jun 2026, in Russian). If a tour operator offers one, get the flight number and carrier in writing.

Scheduled flight or charter: which to choose

An Aeroflot scheduled flight can be bought on its own, without a tour, while a charter usually comes packaged with a hotel. Charters this winter do cover more departure cities. The rest is in the table.

Which one suits whom
  • ✓ Aeroflot scheduled flights suit travellers flying without a tour, who want Business class or Aeroflot Bonus miles
  • ✓ A charter from your own city suits people in Barnaul, Kazan, Ufa and other cities without Aeroflot service to Vietnam who are buying a package
When it's awkward
  • ✗ A scheduled flight is awkward if Aeroflot doesn't fly to Vietnam from your city: you'll connect in Moscow
  • ✗ A charter is awkward if your dates might move: seat blocks are tied to the tour dates

Scheduled flights earn Aeroflot Bonus miles. In January and February 2026 Aeroflot ran Light Award promotions where tickets, Nha Trang included, cost fewer miles (post of 6 Feb 2026).

Common mistakes when flying to Vietnam from Russia

  1. Comparing prices without baggage. A no-bag fare looks cheaper, but an extra piece has to be bought separately later. Compare the final price with baggage.
  2. Trusting an old schedule. Aeroflot changed the Phu Quoc frequency before the first flight even left, from two to three a week. Check days of operation for your travel dates.
  3. Buying a tour without asking who flies it. The AZUR air case showed that a winter programme announced in September can disappear in early October. Ask the tour operator who the carrier is and what happens if it's cancelled.
  4. Forgetting the technical stop. VietJet Air from Vladivostok to Phu Quoc lands in Hanoi for about half an hour. Count it in your travel time, and see what to expect at the border in our guide to the Vietnam arrival QR code.

FAQ

As of 7 October 2026 we found no Aeroflot flights to Hanoi in the airline's announcements. The airline flies to Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and, from 15 October, Phu Quoc. Vietnam Airlines flies nonstop between Hanoi and Moscow on a Boeing 787-9, four times a week from 5 July 2026 according to AeroRoutes (6 May 2026). Check the winter schedule on vietnamairlines.com, and compare carriers in our guide to Vietnamese airlines

That depends on the tour operator, and you shouldn't count on it. Operators buy seat blocks on winter charters and sell them mainly inside tours; Coral Travel's release on Ikar flights talks about seat blocks outright. If spare seats go on sale separately, the tour operator sells them. Before paying, ask for the flight number, the carrier and the baggage allowance: on Coral's Ikar flights it is 10 kg of checked baggage plus 10 kg of carry-on

As of 2 October 2026, Aeroflot flies to Vietnam from Moscow, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok, and Saint Petersburg is not on that list. The nonstop option from Saint Petersburg we found for this winter is Ikar's charter to Nha Trang under Coral Travel's programme, announced in April 2026. On scheduled flights you'll connect in Moscow; other connection options are in our guide on how to fly to Vietnam

It depends on your passport, not on the airline. Russian citizens enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days, and the rule is the same for Phu Quoc, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City. Other nationalities have their own visa-free periods or need an e-visa issued through the official portal evisa.gov.vn. Check your passport's rules in our breakdown of Vietnam visas and e-visas before booking

Go to your tour operator. On 6 October 2026 AZUR air cancelled its winter flights to Nha Trang from seven cities and explicitly asks buyers of those tours to rebook through their tour operator. Which flight or dates you are offered instead is the tour operator's decision. Replacement and refund terms are in your tour contract, since you paid the tour operator, not the airline. Ask who the new carrier will be as well

Because some flights from Vladivostok are operated by other Aeroflot Group airlines. Aeroflot's list of Vladivostok destinations from 8 September 2026, Nha Trang included, carries a footnote: flights may be operated by Rossiya and Aurora. You buy the ticket on aeroflot.ru, but another group airline may operate it. The baggage allowance is in the conditions of the fare you chose, and the operating carrier shows on the flight card before payment

Data current as of 7 October 2026. Schedules, fares and charter programmes change — check aeroflot.ru and your tour contract before you buy.
