The best things to do in Da Nang in 2026
Fifteen attractions worth at least three days: the Golden Bridge at 1,414 m, marble caves full of shrines, and a dragon that breathes fire over the Han River — with tickets from 40,000 VND (~$1.60). A full guide with 2026 prices, opening hours, ready-made itineraries, and the Grab-and-cash details travellers actually need.

Da Nang sits in the middle of Vietnam. The airport is 3 km from the city, and two UNESCO sites (Hội An and Mỹ Sơn) are half an hour to an hour away. The city is compact — everything is within a 35 km radius. A scooter, a Grab, or an 8,000 VND bus gets you there.
Half of the highlights are free: the Dragon Bridge with its fire show, the 67-metre Lady Buddha statue, the Hai Van Pass (on every "world's best roads" list) and every beach. The paid ones are Ba Na Hills (1,000,000 VND), the Marble Mountains (40,000 VND), plus museums and parks.

Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge — Da Nang's headline attraction

The mountain resort of Bà Nà Hills is the number-one sight in Da Nang, featured on the official Vietnam Travel portal. The ticket is 1,000,000 VND (~$40) and bundles everything: the cable car, the Golden Bridge, Fantasy Park and the French Village. Children 1–1.39 m pay 800,000 VND (~$32); under 1 m is free. You can pay by card at the gate or book online in advance.
It's 35 km from the centre at 1,400 m elevation, where it runs about 10°C cooler than the coast — bring a layer even if it's +35 in town.
The cable car
At 5.8 km, this is one of the longest cable cars in the world, and the ride up takes around 20 minutes over jungle slopes, waterfalls and eye-level clouds. The cabins are enclosed and air-conditioned, seating eight.
There are several lines: the main run from the base to the summit plus shorter hops between zones. Queues are the real problem — in peak season (December–February) and at weekends the wait hits 30–40 minutes. The fix: arrive at 07:00.
The Golden Bridge
Cầu Vàng (the Golden Bridge) is a 150-metre span at 1,414 m, cradled by two enormous stone hands. The "held by the gods" shot is the most recognisable photo to come out of Vietnam.
The best time to shoot is 07:00–08:00, while the crowds are thin and mist still drifts through. By 10:00 there are hundreds of people on the bridge and a clean, crowd-free photo is nearly impossible.
In 2025 a Silver Bridge opened nearby, with a glass floor and a viewing deck. The two bridges connect via a walkway, and together they give a full loop of views over the mountains and valley.
💬 "The cable car is a marvel, but the Golden Bridge gets very crowded and hot — go right at opening." — traveller reviews, Tripadvisor, 2025
What else is up there
The French Village is a mock medieval quarter of cobbled lanes, fountains and stone facades. Its cafés and restaurants cost more than in the city (lunch 200,000–400,000 VND), but the atmosphere earns the markup.
The flower gardens Le Jardin D'Amour are nine themed gardens with mountain views; peak bloom is March–May.
Linh Ứng Pagoda is a Buddhist temple at the summit — the oldest on the mountain, founded in the early 19th century.
Fantasy Park is an indoor park with six Jules Verne–themed zones, slides, simulators, arcades and a 3D cinema. It's included in the ticket — good for kids and a handy shelter from the rain.
Prices and practical tips
New for 2026: tickets are now valid for 3 days, so you can come back the next day at no extra cost. A combo ticket with a buffet lunch is 1,300,000 VND (~$52).
Marble Mountains — caves and panoramas above Da Nang

Five limestone hills 8 km from the centre, each named for an element: metal, wood, water, fire and earth. Entry is 40,000 VND (~$1.60), the elevator 15,000 VND (~$0.60). Open 07:00–17:30.
The most visited is Thủy Sơn (Water). It's 156 steps to the top, or take the elevator. Up there you'll find Buddhist pagodas, Hindu carvings and caves with a thousand years of history.
The caves
Huyền Không cave is the main reason to come. A huge chamber where beams of sunlight pour through gaps in the ceiling; at midday the effect peaks — shafts of light fall on the altars and Buddha statues like something out of a film. Inside you'll see scars from American bombs: during the war this was a hideout and field hospital for guerrillas.
A separate entrance leads to Âm Phủ cave, the "hell cave." The ticket is 20,000 VND (~$0.80). Inside are sculptures of the Buddhist underworld — demons, cauldrons, sinners — down narrow passages and stairs where you sometimes have to duck.
There's also Tàng Chơn cave, less popular but quiet, with fine stalactites and Buddhist statues. It gets roughly a tenth of the crowds.
What not to miss
- Come at 11:00–12:00, when the light beams in Huyen Khong cave are at their most dramatic
- The viewpoint atop Thuy Son gives a panorama over the sea, Non Nuoc Beach and the city
- At the base are dozens of marble-carving workshops making statues to order — from 200,000 VND for a small figure to millions for a life-size piece
- Budget 2–3 hours. Sturdy shoes are a must; the steps get slick with humidity
For 55,000 VND (~$2.20) with the elevator you get caves, temples, panoramas and war history — the best-value top-tier sight in Da Nang. Afterwards it's a 5-minute scooter ride to Non Nuoc Beach.
Skip the airport queue in 5–10 min
In winter, immigration lines run 60–90 min. With Fast Track you’re met at the aircraft and taken through the priority lane. Arrange it before you fly.
Telegram managerDragon Bridge and the Han River waterfront

At 666 m, six lanes and shaped like a dragon, this is Da Nang's calling card. Every Saturday and Sunday at 21:00 the dragon breathes fire and water straight from its mouth — a 15-minute show, and free.
In 2026 they added drones and water projections, turning the plain flames into a scored, choreographed spectacle. It draws thousands.
💬 "The fire show pulls a big crowd, so come early to grab a spot. From the east bank you get the fire, quite literally, aimed your way." — traveller reviews, 2025
Da Nang's other bridges
The Sông Hàn (Han River) is the city's central axis. Da Nang is nicknamed the "city of bridges" — there are six, each with its own character.
- Han River Bridge (Cầu Sông Hàn) — Vietnam's first swing bridge, 487 m, which rotates 90 degrees at weekends between 23:00 and 23:30. It was built with public donations from Da Nang residents
- Love Bridge — a pedestrian span with love locks, lighting and sculptures; a classic evening stroll
- Thuan Phuoc Bridge (Thuận Phước) — Vietnam's longest suspension bridge at 1,856 m, linking the centre to the Son Tra Peninsula
- Trần Thị Lý Bridge — a Y-shaped cable-stayed bridge with architectural lighting that resembles a sail
The waterfront and river cruises
Along the waterfront are restaurants, bars and cafés facing the lit-up skyline. The Bạch Đằng strip is especially lively at night; seafood with a Dragon Bridge view starts at 150,000 VND (~$6).
A river cruise runs from 150,000 VND (~$6), and in an hour you see every bridge from the water — best after 20:00, once the lights come on. Boats leave from the pier by the Dragon Bridge. Buy tickets on the spot; online booking doesn't really work here, so keep some cash handy.
Getting set up in Vietnam?
SIM, visas, transfers, tours — our manager sorts it out for you, in English.
Message the managerSon Tra Peninsula and Linh Ung Pagoda

Ten km from the centre and you're on Bán đảo Sơn Trà, the peninsula locals call Monkey Mountain. Entry is free and so is parking — by the "experiences for zero dong" formula, it's the best spot in Da Nang.
The pagoda and Lady Buddha
Linh Ứng Pagoda, with its 67-metre Lady Buddha (Quan Thế Âm), holds the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam. It's visible from anywhere on My Khe Beach, and locals believe it watches over the fishermen.
The grounds are bonsai, statues of the 18 arhats, and quiet. The terrace in front of the pagoda is the best viewpoint in Da Nang: a 270-degree sweep of city, sea, mountains and beaches. Empty in the morning; by midday the tour buses roll in.
Nature and wild beaches

Tropical forest and red-shanked douc langurs — rare primates found almost nowhere else, with a population of about 300. If you're lucky you'll spot them on the verges in the morning. Don't feed them or get close — they're wild.
The beaches Tiên Sa and Bãi Bụt are the opposite of city-side My Khe: tropical, quiet, clear water and coral near shore. Infrastructure is a couple of shade shelters and someone selling coconuts.
One more stop is the Bàn Cờ viewpoint at the very top (693 m), with views over all of Da Nang, Hoi An to the south and mountains to the horizon.
Getting there
Scooter or Grab (80,000–120,000 VND from the centre). The road switchbacks with sharp turns — take extra care in the rain. It's about an hour of easy riding up, with stops. On the way back, drop by My Khe Beach at the foot of the hill.
Hai Van Pass — one of the world's most scenic roads

Thirty km north of Da Nang, 500 m up, with 21+ km of switchbacks. Travel + Leisure ranks it among the world's top scenic mountain roads, and the Top Gear Vietnam Special was filmed here — the hosts rode it by motorcycle and called it one of the best roads of their lives.
At the top are the ruins of a French fort and Vietnam War–era bunkers. From the platform you can see Da Nang to the south and Lăng Cô bay to the north; on a clear day, sea to the horizon both ways.
How to ride it
By scooter it's 1–1.5 hours from Da Nang. The road is good asphalt, but the switchbacks and trucks mean you overtake carefully. Experienced riders love it; beginners are better off on a guided motorbike tour (from ~$35 per person, including bike, helmet and photo stops).
You can also drive it — a Grab from Da Nang runs 400,000–500,000 VND one way. Another option is the Da Nang–Hue train: from 80,000 VND (~$3.20), about 2.5 hours, with cliff, bay and village views from the window.
The pass is free. At the top are a few cafés serving coffee and noodles for 30,000–50,000 VND (~$1.20–2).
On the northern slope is Lăng Cô bay, with turquoise water and a fishing village. It's a good lunch stop — seafood is cheaper than in Da Nang; a plate of fried prawns is 80,000–120,000 VND (~$3.20–4.80).
Museums and cultural sights
Da Nang has three museums worth a visit, each taking 40–90 minutes and all in the city centre.
Museum of Cham Sculpture
Opened by the French in 1915, it holds 300+ artefacts of the Chăm people — stone statues, bas-reliefs and altars from the 4th to 15th centuries. It's the largest collection of Cham art in the world.
Entry is 60,000 VND (~$2.40); students 10,000 VND. Open daily 07:00–17:00.
It's small — 40–60 minutes is plenty. If Southeast Asian history interests you, the pieces here are genuinely rare. The Champa kingdom flourished in central Vietnam for over a thousand years.
3D Art in Paradise Museum
130+ 3D illusions across two floors: walk a "cliff edge," "swim" with sharks, "fly" on a magic carpet. Each installation works best shot from a specific angle — line it up and you get a proper Instagram clip.
Entry is 200,000 VND (~$8); children 1–1.3 m 100,000 VND. Open 09:00–21:00. Budget 1–1.5 hours — good for families and for anyone who needs indoor content on a rainy day.
Da Nang Cathedral
The city's only Catholic church, from 1923, in neo-Gothic style. Pink walls, stained glass and a bell tower topped with a rooster weathervane — locals call it the "Rooster Church" (Nhà thờ Con Gà).
Free. It's central, on Trần Phú street, and worth a 15–20 minute stop on the way to Chợ Hàn Market.
Theme parks — Asia Park and water parks
Sun World Asia Park is a park on the bank of the Han River. The star is the Sun Wheel, a 115 m Ferris wheel; from the top you see all of Da Nang, the coast and the Dragon Bridge. One rotation is about 15 minutes.
There are replicas of Asian landmarks, a monorail 10 m up, the Queen Cobra coaster and water rides. Open 15:30–22:00; ticket 250,000 VND (~$10), children 1–1.4 m 125,000 VND.
At night the lit wheel is visible from all along the waterfront. If you land an evening without the Dragon show (not Saturday or Sunday), Asia Park fills the gap. A Grab from the centre is 50,000–80,000 VND (~$2–3.20).
For families with kids, two more options:
- Mikazuki Water Park — from 325,000 VND (~$13) on weekdays, 375,000 VND at weekends. Water slides, pools and a toddler zone
- Da Nang Dolphinarium — show ticket 350,000 VND (~$14). A 45-minute dolphin and sea-lion show
Da Nang's best beaches

Da Nang has more than 30 km of coastline, and every beach is free. Forbes named Mỹ Khê one of the world's best beaches, National Geographic put Bắc Mỹ An in its top 10 most beautiful, and Tripadvisor ranked Non Nước among the ten best in Asia.

|---|---|---|---|
| My Khe (Mỹ Khê) | 3 km | Everyone | 10 km of white sand, surfing, loungers, cafés |
| Bac My An | 5 km | Resort stays | 4 km, Nat Geo top 10, five-star resorts |

My Khe is the all-rounder and where you'll spend most of your beach time. Wide (50–70 m), clean, with solid infrastructure. A lounger with umbrella is 50,000 VND (~$2) for the whole day; a surf lesson with board from 1,000,000 VND (~$40).
More on each beach in our Da Nang beaches guide.

Hue — the imperial capital
Vietnam's former capital, 100 km north: the Citadel, royal tombs and the Thiên Mụ pagoda — an imperial weight Da Nang doesn't have. You go over the Hai Van Pass, so it's two treats in one trip. More in our Hue guide.
The Cham Islands
A UNESCO biosphere reserve with 400+ coral species. Diving from ~$50, snorkelling from ~$25. The boat from Hoi An is 1.5 hours. Best March–September, while the sea is calm.
Basket boats (Thuyền Thúng) are near Hoi An — round woven baskets a "captain" spins across the water among the palms. It's 100,000 VND (~$4) per boat, plus another 100,000 VND for the "extreme spinning." Fun and wet.
