Nha Trang mud baths: prices and which to pick in 2026

Nha Trang has five mud-bath complexes, and not one of them sits on a natural thermal spring. The "mud" is white clay stirred into heated, mineralised water. It sounds like a gimmick — but 20 minutes in a warm mud bath really does leave your skin smooth and your joints quieter.

Prices start at 120,000 VND (~$5) for a shared bath at Tháp Bà and climb to 3,000,000 VND (~$120) for a VIP package with a private bungalow and massage at I-Resort. All the complexes sit 4–9 km from the centre, a 10–20 minute Grab ride away.

Below: an honest side-by-side of all five, current 2026 prices and a map with coordinates.

I-Resort Suối Khoáng Nóng opened in 2012 and has since become Nha Trang's flagship mud bath. The grounds are styled as a Vietnamese village — bamboo, stone, wooden bridges. There are 4–5 mineral pools, waterfalls, grottoes with Charcot showers, plus mud and herbal baths.

Thap Ba — the original mud bath

A covered mineral pool — the standard format for Vietnam's resort mud baths

Suối Khoáng Nóng Tháp Bà has run since 1999 — the oldest complex in the city. It sits at the foot of a hill beside the Cham towers of Tháp Bà Ponagar, so you can do both in one morning.

Thap Ba's mud is reckoned the most mineral-rich in Nha Trang. The grounds are plain, no design flourishes — but the prices are the lowest in town.

Shared mud, 15 min120,000~$5

Pros: cheapest prices, the Po Nagar towers next door, long hours (until 19:30). Cons: modest grounds, little beyond the mud itself.

If you want more Nha Trang sights than mud baths, the Po Nagar towers are a short walk away.

100 Egg — a leisure park with mud baths

Trăm Trứng Nha Trang — literally "a hundred eggs" — is the most photogenic of the lot. Egg-shaped tubs are scattered through a banana forest across 20 hectares. It is quieter than I-Resort or Thap Ba, because at 9 km south of the centre the crowds don't make it out here.

Pros: few people, great photos, grounds like a botanical garden. Cons: far from the centre — a taxi runs 100,000–150,000 VND (~$4–6) each way.

Address: Phước Đồng, Nha Trang.

What the mud actually does

A drop of essential oil poured onto a palm during a spa treatment
After the mud, skin soaks up oils better — which is why the oil massage usually comes next

Nha Trang's mud baths use white clay rich in silica and mineral salts. Warm mud (38–42 °C) opens the pores, draws out toxins and boosts circulation. After 15–20 minutes in the bath, skin feels noticeably softer.

The treatment is said to help with:

  • aching joints and muscles
  • skin issues (dryness, minor irritation)
  • stress and poor sleep
  • general fatigue

The standard routine: 15–20 minutes in the mud → rinse off under a shower → 30 minutes in a mineral pool → rest.

What to bring

  • Swimwear — essential
  • Towel — I-Resort provides one; at Thap Ba and 100 Egg bring your own
  • A change of clothes — the mud rinses off fully, but you'll be damp for a while
  • A waterproof phone case — the only way to get photos in the mud
  • Water — your own bottle won't hurt
💡
Best time: the morning. By 8:00 I-Resort is nearly empty. Tour groups start arriving around 11:00, and by midday there are queues. Weekdays beat weekends.

The whole visit takes 2–3 hours. Pair it with an island tour, or with the Po Nagar towers if you're heading to Thap Ba anyway.

FAQ

How much do mud baths cost in Nha Trang?

From 120,000 VND (~$5) for a shared bath at Thap Ba up to 3,000,000 VND (~$120) for a VIP package at I-Resort. Budget roughly 300,000–500,000 VND (~$12–20) per person for a typical visit. Kids under 1.3 m usually get 50% off.

Which is better — I-Resort or Thap Ba?

I-Resort is for comfort and fun: landscaped grounds, a water park and a restaurant. Thap Ba is for saving money — the mud is just as good (many say more mineral-rich), but it costs two to three times less. Families lean I-Resort; budget travellers lean Thap Ba.

Are the hot springs in Nha Trang natural?

No. Every complex uses artificially mineralised, heated water mixed with white clay. There are no natural thermal springs in Nha Trang. The effect on your skin and the relaxation are real all the same.

Can I bring kids to a mud bath?

Yes, all complexes welcome children. I-Resort and 100 Egg are the best for families: kids pools, slides and room to run around. Children under 1 m often enter free, and under 1.3 m get 50% off.

Is it better to go in the morning or evening?

Morning. Arrive at 8:00 and you'll nearly have the place to yourself. By 11:00 tour groups roll in, and by midday there are queues for the baths.

What should I bring to a mud bath?

Swimwear, a towel (I-Resort provides one free), a change of clothes, a waterproof phone case and a bottle of water. All complexes have lockers — usually free or around 10,000 VND (~$0.40).

A mud bath is a Nha Trang must. Pick the complex by budget, go in the morning and don't forget the phone case. And after the mud, a hot shower back in your own hotel room is worth every dong — see the Nha Trang beaches guide for where to base yourself.
