Tháp Bà Hot Springs

Nha Trang's original mud spa. Less polished than I-Resort, but with genuine hot mineral springs. Popular with locals — always a good sign.

"I-Resort was the best thing we did in Nha Trang. A mud bath for two, then the mineral pool, sauna and hammam — three hours of pure bliss. Skin feels genuinely silky afterwards. Go on a weekday morning; it's far quieter."

Beach and craft bars

Louisiane Brewhouse (Louisiane Brewhouse) — a beachfront brewery with a pool, sunbeds and its own craft beer. The famous passion-fruit ale is a must-try. Sunbed ~70,000 VND (~$3).

The bar street along the promenade holds dozens of spots for every taste, from shisha lounges to sushi bars. For the local take on cheap draught, see our guide to Vietnamese bia hoi.

⚠️
Heads up: don't leave your phone or bag unattended on the table — pickpocketing happens. Agree the taxi fare in advance or use Grab — at night the freelance taxi touts outside clubs inflate the price three to five times.

7. Pools and beach clubs

If the city beach doesn't inspire, Nha Trang has excellent pools with views of the sea, sunset and mountains.

8. Active adventures

Parasailing over the sea against a clear blue sky in Nha Trang
Parasailing in Nha Trang — 10–15 minutes over the bay up to 50 metres high, from 500,000 VND (~$20)

For those who need more than a sunbed — active pursuits on land and water.

"The jungle quad-bike tour outside town was an unexpected highlight. Two hours on dirt tracks, fording a river, past rice paddies and banana plantations. Around 800,000 VND for two. Wear long trousers and closed shoes — you'll get muddy, but it's the trip you'll remember."

Reddit r/VietnamTravel, 2025
  • Quad bikes — jungle safaris outside town. Routes from 1 to 3 hours, over dirt roads and rice fields
  • Surfing and SUP — schools run year-round, lessons for all ages. Surf spots depend on the season (waves are best in autumn and winter)
  • Paragliding — a flight over Nha Trang with a view of the bay, mountains and city. About 15 minutes
  • Night fishing — out on the open sea; the boat leaves in the evening and returns at dawn. You can cook your catch on board
  • Kayaking — around the islands or along the coast. Often bundled into island tours

9. Things to do with kids

For families, Nha Trang has five reliable options:

  • VinWonders — the headline day out. Water park, oceanarium, rides for all ages. Kids under 100 cm go free
  • Tri Nguyen Aquarium — small but fun, on an island. Fish, turtles, rays
  • Monkey Island — kids love feeding the macaques (watch out — the monkeys can be cheeky)
  • Alexandre Yersin Park — in the centre: playgrounds, fountains, a mini-zoo
  • Mall play zones — Nha Trang Center and Maximark: slides, arcades and figurine-painting on the upper floors
💡
Family tip: a great combo is a day at VinWonders + a mud bath (I-Resort) + an island tour.

10. Night market and shopping

Nha Trang's night market is shopping and entertainment in one. It runs every evening 18:00–22:00 in the centre, near the promenade.

What you'll find:

  • Souvenirs: magnets, Vietnamese conical hats, silk goods
  • Street food: grilled seafood, bánh mì, fruit shakes
  • Photo spots and live music

Haggle — the opening price is usually inflated two or three times over.

FAQ

How do I do VinWonders without queueing all day?

Arrive at 8:00 and hit the water park first — it's cooler and empty in the morning. Move to the roller coasters and zipline around 11:00. Eat at 13:00, before the restaurants fill up. Save the oceanarium and shows for the afternoon, and catch the fountain laser show around 21:00. Monday and Tuesday are the quietest days. Book online for a discount and to skip the ticket line.

What is there to do in Nha Trang in the rainy season (October–November)?

Mud baths run in any weather, so they're the obvious rainy-day pick. Also good: a spa marathon (three or four treatments in a day still cost a fraction of one session back home), the covered sections of the night market, a Vietnamese cooking class, and the indoor play zones in the malls for kids.

Can I dive and do a mud bath on the same day?

Technically yes, but it's not a good idea: after diving your body is dehydrated, and a hot mineral bath adds strain on the heart. Better: dive in the morning, rest and eat light, and save the mud bath for the next day. Leave at least four to five hours between the two.

What's a good 3-day entertainment plan for a couple?

Day 1: VinWonders all day (cable car, water park, fountain show). Day 2: a snorkelling island tour in the morning, then Skylight at sunset plus Sailing Club. Day 3: I-Resort for a mud bath and massage, Louisiane for craft beer on the beach in the afternoon, and the night market in the evening.

Are Nha Trang nightclubs safe for solo travellers?

Generally yes — violence is rare. The main rules: keep your phone off the table (pickpocketing is the number-one issue), use Grab rather than street taxis (fares can triple or more at night), and don't accept drinks from strangers. Sailing Club and Skylight have the most relaxed, civilised crowd.
