Location and getting there

Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc sits on Bai Dai beach in Ganh Dau commune — the north-western corner of Phu Quoc. The area is quiet: no city bustle, just the Vinpearl resort zone with hotels, a golf course and the theme parks.
It is about 30 km to Phu Quoc airport, and roughly the same to Duong Dongtown (the night market, restaurants, shops). Peaceful and secluded — but you won't reach town without a Grab or a taxi.
Getting there from the airport
| Option | Time | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Taxi (Grab, XanhSM) | 45–60 min | ~300,000 VND (~$12) |
| Hotel shuttle | 50 min | On request at booking |
| VinBus (free) | 50–60 min | Free |
Within the resort zone, free shuttles run to VinWonders, Safari and Grand World every 30 minutes. For trips into town, a Grab is the easiest call.
Rooms and villas — which to choose

There are several room grades — from the standard Deluxe up to villas with a private pool. Each room comes with air conditioning, a safe, a minibar, a TV, a balcony and a bathroom with a shower.
Deluxe Garden View / Ocean View (46 sq m)
The entry category. A roomy space with a large bathroom and a King or Twin bed. The only difference between Garden and Ocean View is the view from the balcony. Ocean View costs 20–30% more, but you get sunsets straight from the room.
Price: from ~$73 (low season) to ~$200 (high season) a night.
Junior Suite Garden View (86 sq m)
A separate living room and bedroom, plus a big balcony over the tropical garden. Ideal for families with a child, or anyone staying a while — there is room to spread out.
Price: ~$200–280 a night.
Villas (340 sq m)
The Ocean View Villa has its own pool, a terrace and a view over Long Beach. Some come with 3–4 bedrooms, handy for larger groups. There is also a presidential villa — full privacy and luxury turned up all the way.
Price: from ~$300 a night.
Rooms compared
| Category | Size | View | From (USD) | Best for |

| Deluxe Ocean | 46 sq m | Ocean | from ~$95 | Couples, sunsets |

| Villa | 340 sq m | Ocean | from ~$300 | VIP, large groups |
Grounds and facilities

The grounds are huge — a full walk-around takes an hour. The architecture is Indochine: red-tiled roofs, tropical gardens, lotus ponds. It reads like an Asian village, only in a luxury key.
The poolis what the resort is proudest of. At 4,864 sq m it is the largest outdoor pool on Phu Quoc. There's a swim-up bar, loungers with umbrellas and a separate kids' zone, with a mini water park for little ones nearby.
For families with children
- Kids Club with an activities programme
- Children's pool and mini water park
- Babysitting on request
- On-site playground
Sport and activities
- Golf — an 18-hole international-standard course next to the resort
- Fitness centre
- Water sports on the beach (kayaks, SUP)
- Tennis court
Free Wi-Fi covers the whole property, and parking is free.

In winter, immigration lines run 60–90 min. With Fast Track you’re met at the aircraft and taken through the priority lane. Arrange it before you fly.
Telegram managerBai Dai beach

Vinpearl Resort & Spa sits on Bai Daibeach — once ranked among the world's top ten wild beaches. The wildness is long gone (the resort zone is built up now), but the beach itself is still one of the best on Phu Quoc.
The resort has its own stretch — 3.5 km of fine white sand. Loungers and umbrellas are free, and towels are handed out on the spot. The water shelves gently and there are barely any waves — safe swimming with kids.
Bai Dai faces west, so you get a sunset every evening: the sun drops straight into the sea in front of the resort.
Restaurants and food

There are three restaurants. The cuisine is international, but each has its own format.
| Restaurant | Format | View | Meals |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nemo | Buffet | Garden | Breakfast, lunch, dinner |
| Seashell | Buffet / à la carte | Garden | Breakfast, lunch, dinner |
| Pepper | À la carte | Ocean | Dinner |
Breakfast (buffet) is genuinely good: pho, spring rolls, fresh fruit, pastries, omelettes to order, and separate Asian and European sections. It is usually included in the room rate.
Dinner at Pepper is à la carte with an ocean view — quieter and nicer than the buffet halls. If you want a romantic dinner, this is the one.
There's also Sim Bar (live acoustic sets in the evening, signature cocktails) and Sea View Cafe (Vietnamese coffee, pastries).
The catches worth knowing
- Breakfast coffee machines — there are only three, and they break down now and then. In peak season the coffee queue can drag. The fix: order coffee from a waiter
- Repetition — by day 5–7 the buffet starts repeating, and there's a lot of pork. The remedy is dinner in town or at Grand World
- Menus — there is an English menu with photos, so ordering is easy

VinCharm Spa is a spa complex in standalone huts on a lake. Wooden cabins over the water, tropical greenery all around — a secluded spot.
Treatments
- Body massage (Thai, Balinese, aromatherapy)
- Scrubs and body wraps
- Facials

They work with natural oils and premium products. An hour's massage starts around 600,000 VND (~$24). Book a day ahead — in season the therapists are busy.

VinWonders, Safari and fun nearby

Vinpearl Resort & Spa beats the other five-star hotels on Phu Quoc on location — the Vinpearl theme parks are basically over the fence, with free shuttles every 30 minutes.
| Place | Distance | What's inside |
|---|---|---|
| VinWonders | 500 m | Rides, a turtle-shaped aquarium, a mermaid show |
| Vinpearl Safari | 2–3 km | 170+ species, 3,000 animals, a bus safari |
| Grand World | ~5 km | The "Kiss of the Sea" show, the Kissing Bridge, restaurants, shopping |
| Vinpearl Golf | Adjacent | 18 holes, international standard |
Are VinWonders and Safari included in the rate?
No— if you book a room only, you pay for the parks separately. But vinpearl.com sells "flight + hotel" packages that often already bundle in VinWonders and Safari.
Ticket prices separately
- VinWonders — from 500,000 VND (~$20) per adult
- Safari — from 500,000 VND (~$20) per adult
- VinWonders + Safari combo — from 800,000 VND (~$32)

Pros and cons — an honest review
Pros
- The grounds — Indochine architecture, manicured gardens, impressive scale
- The pool — 4,864 sq m, room to swim even at peak season
- The beach — 3.5 km of white sand, a gentle shelf, sunsets every evening
- VinWonders and Safari — a walk or a shuttle away; nowhere is easier for families with kids
- Kids Club — kids club, water park, babysitting — the full family kit
- Price — for a 5★ on Phu Quoc, this is the budget end
- VinCharm Spa — the unique huts on a lake
Cons
- Not enough loungers — the main gripe. In December–March you need to claim one by 6–7 am
- Far from town — 30 km to Duong Dong. No getting there without a Grab or taxi
- Breakfast coffee — three machines for 600+ rooms means a queue
- Repetitive food — on a longer stay (7+ days) the buffet gets old
- Water — only 2 × 0.5 l bottles a day per room, with no extras handed out
- The odd complaint about mould in a few rooms (worth a check at check-in)
Compared: Resort & Spa vs Melia Vinpearl vs Wonderworld
Several hotels operate inside the Vinpearl zone on Phu Quoc. Here is how they differ:
| Feature | Resort & Spa | Melia Vinpearl | Wonderworld |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accommodation | Rooms + villas | Rooms | Villas only |
| Room count | 605 + 21 villas | ~200 rooms | 211 villas |
| Beach | Bai Dai, 3.5 km | Bai Dai | Private |
| Pool | 4,864 sq m (shared) | Large shared | Private |
| Spa | VinCharm (on a lake) | Akoya Spa | Akoya Spa |
| Best for | Families, couples, budget 5★ | Couples, younger crowd | VIP, privacy |
| From / night | ~$73 | ~$100 | ~$200 |
Resort & Spa is the best value for money. If you want privacy and a villa with a pool, go for Wonderworld. Melia Vinpearl has a more modern design and fewer guests.
