Where to Stay in Quy Nhon 2026: Resorts, Seafront Hotels and Cheap Beds

Quy Nhon (Quy Nhơn) hotels fall into a simple pattern once you see the map. Three upmarket resorts: Anantara and AVANI in a quiet bay to the south, Maia on an empty beach to the north. One big golf-and-resort complex, FLC, out on the peninsula. A dozen towers along the city seafront. And a hundred-plus mini-hotels and hostels where a room costs from $12 and a dorm bed from $4–5. That mix is what sets Quy Nhon apart from Nha Trang with its package-tour blocks and Da Nang with its hundreds of hotels. The town is early in its tourism story, so the choice looks small, but the price gap between tiers is huge.

This guide covers the Quy Nhon hotels worth knowing, with prices in dollars and dong, the areas they sit in, and the downsides nobody puts in the listing. It is not a ranking. It is a way to choose: where to go for a honeymoon, where to base yourself with kids, what $25 gets you, and where to sleep by the sea for $5.

A note before you search. On 1 July 2025 Binh Dinh province was merged into Gia Lai, and Quy Nhon became the capital of the new province. Districts were abolished nationwide. Booking sites still say "Binh Dinh Province" and searching that way still works, but new addresses look different.

Quy Nhon hotels at a glance

Quy Nhon’s hotels sit in five zones: the city centre along the An Dương Vương and Nguyễn Huệ seafront; the resort bay at Bai Dai next to Bai Xep, 12 km south; the fishing village of Bai Xep itself; the FLC complex by Nhon Ly village on the Phuong Mai peninsula; and the empty beach at Cat Tien, 35 km north. Areas: where to stay in Quy Nhon

In Quy Nhon the area matters more than the star rating. The town itself stretches 5–6 km along its bay, while the resorts are spread out: the southern pair 12 km from the centre, FLC 20 km away by road across the bridge, Maia 35 km. Pick wrong and every trip into town becomes a Grab ride at 100,000–250,000 VND (~$4–10) each way.

City centre: the beach across the road

An Dương Vương is the main hotel street. Most of the three- and four-star hotels are here (Saigon Quy Nhon, Anya Premier, TMS, Hai Au), along with dozens of mini-hotels and hostels. The city beach is across the road: 5 km of flat sand you can swim from. Cafés, seafood restaurants and the night market are all walkable.

Best for: first visits, travellers without a scooter, anyone who wants to choose a different place to eat every night.

To Phu Cat airport (UIH): about 30 km and 40 minutes. A flat-fare taxi is around 250,000 VND (~$10); the airport shuttle bus is 50,000 VND (~$2). Every option is in our guide on how to get to Quy Nhon.

The catch with the city beach is that it’s a city beach. Few loungers, cloudy water after a swell, and a scruffy stretch near the fishing boats. On the other hand, hundreds of locals swim and run here at dawn, and the evening sky over the bay is lovely.

Bai Dai by Bai Xep: Anantara, AVANI and private sand

Twelve kilometres south on the QL1D coast road, past the Ghenh Rang headland and the old Quy Hoa leprosarium, is the bay hotels list as Bai Dai. Two Minor Hotels resorts share it: Anantara Quy Nhon Villas and AVANI Quy Nhon Resort, each with its own beach, rocks and green slopes behind. The fishing village of Bai Xep is a kilometre away, with cafés and backpacker guesthouses. It isn’t a neighbourhood so much as a self-contained resort zone.

Best for: honeymoons, switching off, people happy to stay put.

Downside: the only way into town is a hotel car or Grab, about 100,000 VND (~$4) each way, and you should book the ride back in advance. Dinner in town is a separate outing.

Nhon Ly and the FLC complex

Out on the Phuong Mai peninsula, next to the fishing village of Nhon Ly, is FLC Quy Nhon Beach & Golf Resort, about 20 km from the centre via the Thi Nai bridge, 25–30 minutes by car. It is a large resort complex: hotel, villas, golf course, a safari-style zoo, restaurants and conference rooms. Ky Co cove and the Eo Gio headland, the area’s two big natural sights, are a few kilometres away.

Best for: families, golfers, corporate groups.

Downside: 25–30 minutes to town, and Grab is harder to find on the peninsula. The grounds are big enough that people move around by buggy, and in low season some restaurants close.

Bai Xep: the backpacker fishing village

Twelve kilometres south, a turning off QL1D drops to the fishing cove of Bai Xep: a few guesthouses, a couple of cafés and round basket boats on the sand. This is the anti-resort, the place backpackers book for three nights and leave a month later.

Best for: backpackers, remote workers who can live with slow Wi-Fi, anyone after village Vietnam.

Downside: you need a scooter (from 100,000 VND, ~$4 a day). There is no ATM, and food means guesthouse cafés plus a couple of local eateries.

Cat Tien: the empty beach up north

Thirty-five kilometres north, by the small town of Cat Tien, Maia Resort Quy Nhon sits on a long, nearly empty beach. There is little else around: fishing villages, dunes and a coast road. Phu Cat airport is about 40 minutes away, central Quy Nhon 30–40.

Best for: people who want a resort with no neighbours and a "hotel plus beach" routine.

Downside: you won’t be popping into town. Everything is by transfer.

North of the centre: long stays

In the northern part of town, around the port (the old Hai Cang quarter), live the people who come for a month or two. Studios start at about 6 million VND a month (~$230). Tourists have no reason to stay here, since the good beach is far and the streets are residential. For a winter base, though, it works.

The usual Bai Xep routine: coffee looking at the boats in the morning, the sea or nothing during the day, beers with other escapees in the evening. The internet is slow, but after a week you stop noticing.

Anantara Quy Nhon Villas: the top of the market

Anantara Quy Nhon Villas has 26 one- and two-bedroom villas on a slope above the Bai Dai bay, 12 km south of the centre. It opened in the late 2010s and went straight to the top of the local price list. Every villa has its own pool, terrace and sea view, and some have infinity pools cantilevered over the rocks. The grounds cover about seven acres of tropical garden.

Each villa comes with a villa host, a wine fridge and breakfast either at Sea.Fire.Salt by the water or on your terrace. There is a pool bar, an Anantara spa and Spice Spoons cooking classes. The transfer from Phu Cat airport (about 45 minutes) is booked separately, so ask when you reserve.

AVANI Quy Nhon Resort: resort beach, sensible price

AVANI is the younger brand in Minor Hotels, the group behind Anantara. The Quy Nhon resort has been open since 2003, first as Life Wellness Resort and later under the AVANI name. It shares the Bai Dai bay with Anantara, on 13.5 hectares of hillside and beach. There are 63 rooms, all facing the sea, but they are rooms rather than villas.

Rooms and prices

There’s a pool, a spa and a restaurant on site, and breakfast is usually in the rate. The resort also runs a kids’ club and water sports. Bai Xep village is a ten-minute walk along the beach.

What’s good:

• The same bay as Anantara at roughly an eighth of the price.
• Bai Xep on foot: cafés, fishermen and sunrises without a taxi.
• Fewer people than FLC, quieter than the centre.

What’s not:

• The buildings date from 2003, and some reviews say it shows.
• No private pools, just one shared.
• From November to January the surf is strong and the beach can be closed.

AVANI is the choice if you want a five-star beach for a good city-hotel price and a room is enough.

Maia Resort Quy Nhon: the quiet third option

Maia Resort Quy Nhon belongs to Vietnam’s Fusion group and sits on Cat Tien beach, 35 km north of the centre and about 40 minutes from Phu Cat airport. It soft-opened in late 2020 and fully opened in December 2021. There are 94 villas: semi-detached, garden pool and two-bedroom beachfront. The architecture is minimal: concrete, timber, open plans.

Maia’s thing is food. Fusion built it as a resort for people who travel to eat, with a strong kitchen and dinners on the beach. Expect villas from about $200 a night in low season, with the beachfront two-bedrooms well above that.

Compared with Anantara it is less European polish and more Asian minimalism, with quieter service. Compared with AVANI it is completely isolated: no village with cafés, no town. It suits people who come for the resort itself and don’t plan daily outings.

Don’t confuse it with Fusion Maia Da Nang, a different hotel from the same group.

FLC Luxury Hotel & Resort: a town inside a resort

FLC Quy Nhon Beach & Golf Resort is Quy Nhon’s only large all-in resort complex in the Vinpearl mould. Vietnam’s FLC Group opened it in 2016 on the Phuong Mai peninsula next to Nhon Ly village, 20 km from the centre by road, on a very large stretch of coast. It includes:

• FLC Luxury Hotel, the main hotel block by the beach
• FLC Luxury Resort, villas with private pools
• FLC Quy Nhon Golf Links, a course by Nicklaus Design
• FLC Zoo Safari Park, a safari-style zoo
• Restaurants and conference facilities

FLC Group went through serious corporate trouble after 2022, but the Quy Nhon resort still trades under its own brand in 2026 and is sold on all the big platforms. Standards vary between parts of the complex, so read reviews from the last six months and check whether the safari park is open on your dates.

Prices in 2026

FLC Hotel or FLC Resort?

FLC Hotel is a standard hotel: lobby, lifts, rooms on floors, buffet breakfast, shared pools. It suits an active trip, with golf and a day at Ky Co, where the room is just for sleeping.

FLC Resort means villas, each with a private pool, a small garden and a terrace. It suits a stay where the resort is the holiday.

Who it’s for

Four-star hotels in the centre: Saigon Quy Nhon, Anya Premier, TMS

Along the Nguyễn Huệ and An Dương Vương seafront stand the big city hotels. They make sense when you want decent rooms, a central location and a fair price without paying for a private beach. There are no international chain hotels in central Quy Nhon; every one of these is Vietnamese-run.

Saigon Quy Nhon Hotel, 4★

24 Nguyễn Huệ. The town’s oldest big hotel, with about 150 rooms and suites, an outdoor pool, a spa and a restaurant. The city beach is across the road and the centre’s cafés and market are within walking distance.

Downsides: dated interiors, a basic breakfast, and some rooms face the city.

Anya Premier Hotel Quy Nhon, 4★

44 An Dương Vương, at the southern end of the seafront. It sits right on the beach, with a rooftop pool looking over the whole bay, a spa and several restaurants. Rooms are newer than most of its neighbours’. Deluxe rooms start around $60, suites around $150.

The upside is the view and the fresh rooms. The downside is that the livelier north end of the seafront is 2–3 km away, so evenings in town mean a Grab.

TMS Hotel Quy Nhon Beach

28 Nguyễn Huệ. A 28-storey tower in the busiest part of the seafront, a hundred metres from the sand. On the roof there is a pool with a bar and a water slide; at street level, beach bars. Deluxe rooms start around $55; apartments and suites go up to about $200.

Mid-range: Hai Au (Seagull), Royal and local three-stars

Quy Nhon has fifteen to twenty local three- and four-star hotels at $30–60 a night. They don’t reach international standards: old furniture here, a weak breakfast there. For the money, they’re fine.

Hai Au Hotel (Seagull), 4★

489 An Dương Vương, at the southern end of the seafront. A big local hotel by the beach with a pool. Superior rooms from about $40, junior suites from about $100.

Good: the beach across the road and the quiet end of the promenade. Less good: 2000s furniture, and road-facing rooms are noisy. The Vietnamese breakfast (pho, banh mi) beats the Western one.

Royal Hotel & Healthcare Resort Quy Nhon

1 Hàn Mặc Tử, at the foot of the Ghenh Rang headland. A hotel with a wellness angle: spa, pool, treatments. Rooms from about $50. Handy if you want to be near Queen’s Beach and the poet’s grave while staying five minutes from town.

Local three-stars in the centre

Along Trần Hưng Đạo, Nguyễn Huệ and Trần Phú there are dozens of hotels at $30–50: a 20–25 m² room, air-con, breakfast, sometimes a rooftop pool. Names change more often than the buildings, so choose on recent reviews rather than on a name.

Budget: guesthouses, mini-hotels and hostels

Quy Nhon has well over a hundred mini-hotels and guesthouses at $12–25 a night, most of them in the centre around An Dương Vương, Nguyễn Huệ, Trần Phú and Tăng Bạt Hổ streets. The standard package: a 12–16 m² room, air-con, a bathroom with hot water, Wi-Fi, no breakfast.

Hostels worth knowing

A dorm bed in the city hostels runs $4–8, and a private room in a mini-hotel starts at about $12.

Check before you unpack

1. Hot water. Cheap guesthouses run one small heater per room, and it can run out in the evening rush. Test the shower first.
2. Windows. Windowless rooms are 30% cheaper and stuffy in summer even with air-con.
3. Stairs. Not every building has a lift, and a fourth floor with a suitcase gets old fast.
4. Wi-Fi. Ask about speed. 1–2 Mbps happens, and that’s no good for work.
5. Passport and deposit. Hotels register your passport with the police; some keep it at reception or ask for a $20–50 cash deposit instead, refunded on checkout.

Bai Xep: the backpacker fishing village

Twelve kilometres south of Quy Nhon, the QL1D road passes above the fishing cove of Bai Xep (Bãi Xép): a short beach, round fishing boats, a handful of guesthouses and cafés. The backpacker scene grew here on its own in the early 2010s, and today Bai Xep is the main stop in Quy Nhon for Western backpackers and remote workers.

Where to sleep

On Booking the old Big Tree listing now opens as Haven Vietnam; it is the same business. Life’s a Beach used to be in Bai Xep itself but moved a few kilometres south, which technically puts it in Xuan Loc commune, Dak Lak province, on the same road. For something upmarket, AVANI and Anantara are in the next bay, a kilometre from the village.

Who it suits

How to choose: a quick guide by traveller type

Getting the hotel wrong costs more in Quy Nhon than in Nha Trang or Da Nang. The price gap between tiers is enormous ($25 at a guesthouse, $580 at Anantara), and the areas are poorly connected.

Booking tips for foreign visitors

Booking.com and Agoda both cover Quy Nhon well and take foreign cards without trouble. Booking has more of the resorts; Agoda has more of the small local hotels. Free-cancellation rates are worth the small premium in the wet season, when plans change with the weather.

Booking direct with Anantara, AVANI and FLC sometimes gets you a better rate or perks such as a transfer, especially outside high season. Email and ask.

Small hotels by WhatsApp or Zalo. Mini-hotels often quote 10–15% under their Booking price if you contact them directly. English is patchy, so keep messages short.

Passport at check-in. Every hotel has to register foreign guests with the local police. Expect to hand over your passport for a scan; some small places hold it until checkout.

Cash. Resorts and city hotels take cards. Guesthouses in Bai Xep and on the islands often don’t, and there are no ATMs outside the centre and the airport.

Common booking mistakes in Quy Nhon

1. Booking the wrong Anantara or AVANI. Anantara also has resorts in Hoi An and Mui Ne, and AVANI has hotels across the region. Check that the booking says "Quy Nhon" and a Bai Dai address.
2. Booking October to January without looking at the forecast. The room is 40% cheaper, but three days out of seven can bring rain and two-metre waves. Booking won’t warn you that the sea is closed.
3. Assuming FLC is in town. It’s 20 km away by road. If you want to walk to the market in the morning, stay in the centre.
4. Treating low-season Anantara as a bargain. Even discounted, every trip into town costs about 200,000 VND (~$8) return by Grab and half an hour on the road. Go in daily and the saving disappears.
5. Expecting a beach resort at Bai Xep. It’s a village where fishermen live. No ATM, no pharmacy, limited food. Plan around that.
6. Booking "an apartment in TMS" instead of the TMS hotel. The Nguyễn Huệ tower holds dozens of private flats with similar names. Cleaning, service and breakfast are not hotel-grade.
7. Ignoring recent reviews. Local hotels change managers and renovate often. Reviews from three years ago may describe a different place.
8. Booking over Tet without knowing what Tet means. Lunar New Year brings +50% prices, full occupancy three months out, and restaurants closed while staff go home to their families.
