Cam Ranh Food: Where to Eat, Seafood and Prices in 2026
Cam Ranh food is not Nha Trang food. There is no street of a thousand signs here. Between the resorts on Bai Dai you’ll find almost no street stalls, and a bowl of pho for 35,000 VND (~$1.50) means a 25-minute ride into town.

What Cam Ranh does have: blood cockles from the Thuy Trieu lagoon, lobster from the farms off Binh Ba island sold right in the city, and seafood restaurants that will pick you up from your hotel for free.
This guide covers the three places you’ll actually eat (the resort strip, the lagoon, the town), what 11 common dishes cost at each level, how to order seafood from a tank without getting stung on the bill, and 10 spots on the map.
Prices checked September 2026. Rate used: ~26,000 VND = $1. The full trip budget with hotels and transport is in Cam Ranh prices 2026.
Cam Ranh food at a glance
Eating in Cam Ranh splits into three worlds, and each has its own prices and logic. Knowing which one you’re in saves money and a fair bit of frustration, especially if you booked a package and assumed there’d be "normal food" outside the hotel gate.
The three food zones:
- Bai Dai (the resort strip along Nguyễn Tất Thành road). Hotel restaurants, buffets, premium seafood. Dinner à la carte runs 400,000–1,500,000 VND (~$15–58) per person. At all-inclusive resorts, food is part of the room rate.
- Thuy Trieu lagoon and the K9 night market. Local seafood restaurants 5 to 15 minutes from the resorts. Several run free shuttles.
- Cam Ranh town (Hùng Vương and 22/8 streets). An ordinary Vietnamese town with a cafe on every corner. Pho, banh mi and banh can for $1–3.50 a plate. This is where you go for real local food.
The ground rule: inside the hotel you get a buffet and Asian fusion, outside the gate you get Vietnam. The town centre is about 20–25 km from the resorts, and between them there’s little besides a few seafood places and the K9 night market. If you want variety, budget for taxis.
One thing to know up front about Binh Ba island: it’s closed to tourism. You can still eat its lobster, just on the mainland. Details below.
- Blu Lobster (Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh): Beachfront seafood, dinner only — 500,000–1,500,000 VND (~$19–58) per person
- Mövenpick restaurants (Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh): Panorama buffet, Chübeli beer restaurant — Lobby Lounge with the chocolate hour
- Atlantis and La Casa (ALMA Resort Cam Ranh): Live seafood tanks, 400,000–1,500,000 VND per person — La Casa is Italian
- Duyen Ha restaurants (Duyen Ha Resort Cam Ranh): Hotel restaurants near the airport — Seafood and Vietnamese dishes
- Rosone and Orchidea (Cam Ranh Riviera Beach Resort): The hotel's two restaurants — All-inclusive
- Thuy Trieu seafood (Nhà Hàng Hải Sản Thủy Triều): Lagoon seafood and blood cockles — 200,000–600,000 VND per person
- Co.opmart Cam Ranh (Co.opmart Cam Ranh): Supermarket in town — Water, snacks, coffee to take home, cards accepted
- Cho Moi Cam Ranh (Chợ Mới Cam Ranh): Main town market on 22/8 street — Fruit and seafood, best before 10 am
- Hung Vuong street food (Đại lộ Hùng Vương): Banh can, grilled nem, fish noodle soup — Busiest in the evening
- Ba Ngoi port (Cảng Ba Ngòi): Fish market — Harbour breakfasts under $2
Cam Ranh or Nha Trang for dinner? Nha Trang has a proper restaurant scene: Western food, craft beer, whole streets of seafood. Cam Ranh doesn’t, and won’t pretend to. On a week-long stay, plan one or two evenings in Nha Trang. A Grab from Bai Dai costs 375,000–550,000 VND (~$14–21) each way and takes about 45 minutes.
Plenty of visitors do exactly that: quiet beach days on Bai Dai, a couple of nights out in Nha Trang. It works, but each round trip eats an hour and a half.
Seafood in Cam Ranh: the main event

Seafood is why people who care about food come to Cam Ranh. The bay and the Thuy Trieu lagoon supply prawns, squid, shellfish and fish all year. Off Binh Ba island there are floating lobster farms, and their catch is sold on the mainland: at seafood restaurants, at markets and by live-lobster dealers along Hùng Vương.
Seafood prices in Cam Ranh, 2026
| Seafood | Vietnamese name | Per kg (VND) | Per kg (USD) | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Binh Ba farmed lobster | tôm hùm Bình Ba | 1,000,000–2,500,000 | ~$38–96 | Town markets and seafood restaurants, resort restaurants |
| Tiger prawns | tôm sú | 350,000–500,000 | ~$13–19 | Any seafood market |
| Oysters | hàu | 80,000–150,000 | ~$3–6 | Lagoon and town restaurants |
| Squid | mực | 200,000–300,000 | ~$8–12 | Any market |
| Crab | cua | 400,000–700,000 | ~$15–27 | Markets, lagoon restaurants |
| Grouper | cá mú | 250,000–400,000 | ~$10–15 | Any market |
| Abalone | bào ngư | from 1,500,000 | from ~$58 | Specialist restaurants only |
Live lobster from a market or dealer costs roughly 1,000,000–1,500,000 VND per kilo. Cooked in a restaurant, expect up to 2,500,000. Lobster is available all year. Crab is best from October to April; in the hot months the meat gets watery. If something is on the menu but not in the tank, ask whether they can get it from the market by evening.
How to order at a Vietnamese seafood restaurant
The routine is the same at Blu Lobster in the Radisson and at a plastic-chair place in town. Learn it once and you won’t get a surprise on the bill.
- Go to the tanks or the ice display. Ice holds fish and shellfish; tanks hold the live stuff (lobster, crab, sometimes squid). Point.
- Get it weighed. Everything is priced per kilo. A 600 g lobster at 2,000,000 VND/kg costs 1,200,000 VND (~$46), not 2,000,000. Ask them to weigh it in front of you before it goes to the kitchen.
- Say how you want it. English works: grill, steam, boil, fry, chili & garlic. For oysters, raw with lime.
- Lock in the price. Take a photo of the price board or ask them to write the total down first.
- Wait 15–25 minutes. Rice and vegetables are ordered separately. Ask for muối tiêu chanh, salt, pepper and lime mixed at the table. It’s free.
Hot evening, cold beer, a grilled lobster still smoking on the plate. Nobody uses cutlery. That’s Cam Ranh seafood at its best.
Binh Ba island: where to eat its lobster

Locals call Binh Ba (đảo Bình Ba) "lobster island" (đảo tôm hùm) for the floating cages around it. You can’t go there for lunch, though. The island sits inside the security zone of the Cam Ranh naval base, and Government Decision 04/2025/QĐ-TTg bans all tourism there. In June 2026 Khanh Hoa authorities repeated the point: the ban covers everyone, Vietnamese citizens included, and the boat tours still advertised on social media are illegal. Foreigners were never allowed on the island in the first place.
Where to eat Binh Ba lobster on the mainland:
- Seafood restaurants on the Thuy Trieu lagoon, 10–15 minutes from the Bai Dai resorts. Mong Ước, for one, picks guests up from the resorts for free; expect 100,000–500,000 VND (~$4–19) per person
- Atlantis at ALMA, with live lobster tanks right on the beach, 400,000–1,500,000 VND per person
- Live-lobster dealers on Hùng Vương in town, 1,000,000–1,500,000 VND per kilo depending on species and size. Take it to a nearby seafood restaurant to be cooked (they charge a separate cooking fee)
A 600–800 g lobster with rice, greens and beer for two at a town seafood restaurant comes to about 1,500,000 VND (~$58). The same meal at a resort restaurant costs roughly double.

Want the floating-raft dinner experience? The nearest legal option is Vinh Hy Bay, 45 minutes south of Bai Dai, where raft restaurants openly serve tourists.
Restaurants on Bai Dai: the resort strip
Bai Dai (Long Beach) is a long stretch of sand lined with more than ten large five-star resorts and not much else. The beach itself is covered in our Cam Ranh beaches guide. Dining on the strip belongs to the hotels: each has anything from two to a dozen restaurants and bars, from breakfast buffets to beachfront dinners. Independent options outside are few, and it’s better to know that before you land.
The main resort restaurants
| Restaurant | Hotel | Food | Typical spend (VND) | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blu Lobster | Radisson Blu | Vietnamese, seafood | 500,000–1,500,000 per person | On the shoreline, dinner only, Haute Grandeur award 2022 |
| The Lounge | Radisson Blu | Bar, snacks | à la carte | 13th floor, sea views and sunset over the hills |
| Panorama | Mövenpick | Buffet | hotel rate | Market-style live stations |
| Chübeli | Mövenpick | Bavarian and Swiss | à la carte | Sausages and beer, rare in Vietnam |
| Lobby Lounge | Mövenpick | Coffee, pastries | à la carte | The brand’s daily chocolate hour |
| Atlantis | ALMA | Seafood from the tank | 400,000–1,500,000 per person | 170 seats on a deck above the beach |
| La Casa | ALMA | Italian | à la carte | Pasta and pizza when you’ve had enough rice |
| Rosone, Orchidea | Cam Ranh Riviera | International | all-inclusive | Buffet plus à la carte |
Most five-star restaurants take outside guests. Message the resort (contacts are on hotel websites), book a table, and give the restaurant name and your booking at the gate. ALMA, with 14 restaurants and bars, handles this best, and guests from neighbouring hotels eat there regularly.
The all-inclusive resorts (Swandor, Selectum Noa, Riviera) cater to their own guests. Getting in from outside is harder, so ask reception first.
Is there anywhere to eat near Mövenpick?

Within walking distance of Mövenpick, not really. That’s true of every hotel on Bai Dai: step out of the gate and the nearest independent place is a few kilometres down the highway. There’s more nearby than it looks, though, if you know who to call.
Nearby, 5–15 minutes by car:
- K9 night market, on Nguyễn Tất Thành road at the K9 turn-off, 4 km from the airport. Inside: Vĩnh Cam Ranh seafood restaurant, Việt Xưa clay-pot rice, and a minimart selling dried seafood. The seafood restaurant runs a free shuttle for diners
- Mong Ước, a seafood place on the Thuy Trieu lagoon, 100,000–500,000 VND per person, free pickup from Bai Dai resorts
- Thuy Trieu Seafood Restaurant, on the lagoon shore: blood cockles (sò huyết), oysters, 200,000–600,000 VND per person
- Next-door resorts: Blu Lobster at the Radisson and Atlantis at ALMA
25–30 minutes away (Cam Ranh town, 150,000–300,000 VND each way):
- Dozens of local cafes, covered below
Whether you’re at Mövenpick, Radisson, ALMA, Selectum, Swandor, Duyen Ha or Amiana, the plan is the same. A dinner outside the hotel is an outing with logistics, not a stroll round the corner. More on what’s near the resorts in our Cam Ranh attractions guide.
All-inclusive or à la carte?
Cam Ranh has several big all-inclusive resorts: Swandor, Aquamarine by Swandor, Selectum Noa and Cam Ranh Riviera. AI typically adds 30–50% to the room-only rate and covers meals, drinks (often alcohol too) and the minibar.
| What | All-inclusive | Breakfast only / à la carte |
|---|---|---|
| Extra over B&B rate | +30–50% | — |
| Restaurants included | 2–6 hotel restaurants and bars | All of them, paid |
| Best for | Families of 3+, kids, drinkers | Couples, food lovers, people who go out |
| Downside | You stop exploring | Every dinner needs planning |
| Dinner budget à la carte | — | ~$15–58 per person |
Rule of thumb: for a family of four with kids, AI pays for itself in four or five days. The kids live on buffet pancakes and pizza, the parents on grilled seafood, and the minibar is open. For a couple who came to see Vietnam, AI gets old fast. By day three the buffet all looks the same and you want a 35,000 VND pho in town.
Where to eat in Cam Ranh town

Cam Ranh town is an ordinary Vietnamese town of about 130,000 people. Since the 2025 administrative reform, Cam Ranh is no longer a city; its old districts became the wards of Cam Ranh, Cam Linh, Ba Ngòi and Bắc Cam Ranh in Khanh Hoa province. The eating streets are Hùng Vương, 22/8 and the lanes around the market. People come here when they’re done with hotel buffets, and for prices five to ten times lower.
Seven local spots worth the ride
| Place | Address | What and how much | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bánh căn Nhà Sách | Pavement outside the bookshop, 2216 Hùng Vương | Banh can, 15,000–20,000 VND a plate | 5:30–11 pm |
| Bánh xèo chảo Chi Chi | 66 Nguyễn Trọng Kỷ, opposite Ba Ngòi fish market | Crispy pancakes with prawn and squid, 30,000 VND | 5–9 pm |
| Mì Quảng Thủy Cát | 31 Nguyễn Thái Học | Mi Quang noodles, 30,000–35,000 VND | 6–10 am |
| Bún cá Cô Lành | 96 Hùng Vương, Ba Ngòi | Fish noodle soup with jellyfish and bamboo shoots | mornings |
| Nem Hùng Sương | 2125 Hùng Vương | Grilled pork sausage rolls | 1–11 pm |
| Bánh hỏi lòng heo | Ba Ngòi market | Fine rice noodles with pork offal, 10,000–20,000 VND | 6–10 am |
| Ben Ben New | 1679 Hùng Vương | Seafood from the tank, 150,000–450,000 VND per person | lunch and dinner |
Most places in town have no English menu. Google Translate’s camera mode handles it fine, or just point at what the next table is eating. Nobody will find that odd.
Timing matters here. Banh can is mostly an evening dish, while noodle soups like Mi Quang and bun ca are breakfast food and gone by 10 am. You won’t fit everything into one trip.
Getting to town from Bai Dai
- Grab, Xanh SM or a metered taxi: 150,000–300,000 VND (~$6–12) each way, depending on your resort
- Time: 25–30 minutes on a good road
- Hotel car: usually 30–50% more
- When to go: mornings (6–9 am) for the market and noodle soups, evenings (from 5:30 pm) for banh can and nem. Pick one per trip
What to eat in Cam Ranh

Bánh căn (banh can). Little rice-flour pancakes cooked in clay moulds over charcoal, topped with quail egg or seafood and dunked in fish-sauce broth with green mango. Khanh Hoa’s signature snack. Five pairs cost 15,000–20,000 VND (under $1). Evenings only, mostly.
Bún cá (fish noodle soup). Rice noodles, fish cakes and crunchy strips of lagoon jellyfish in a clear broth. A local breakfast you won’t find on a hotel buffet.
Phở (pho). Rice noodle soup with beef or chicken. From 35,000 VND (~$1.50) in town, up to 200,000 VND (~$8) at a resort. Same bowl, give or take, at 5.7 times the price. Best at breakfast, when the broth is fresh. More on the soup itself in our pho bo guide.
Bánh mì (banh mi). Baguette with pâté, pickled carrot, coriander, chilli and meat. About 20,000 VND (~$0.80) on the street. The fillings are covered in our banh mi guide.
Bánh xèo (banh xeo). Crispy rice pancake with prawns and bean sprouts, wrapped in lettuce and herbs and dipped in fish sauce. 30,000–40,000 VND a serving.
Sò huyết (blood cockles). The Thuy Trieu lagoon speciality, usually grilled with peanuts and spring onion oil. The name sounds worse than it is: they’re ordinary clams with reddish juice.
Bia hơi (fresh draught beer). Brewed in the morning, drunk the same day. Around 15,000 VND a glass. Light and slightly sour. At that price, try it at least once.
Fresh lime juice (nước chanh). 15,000–25,000 VND a glass, and it gets you through the heat. Cafe ice is generally factory-made from treated water.

Western and international food
Cam Ranh has no independent Western restaurant scene. If you want a burger joint, a proper pizzeria or a craft beer bar, that’s a Nha Trang evening. In Cam Ranh, Western food lives inside the resorts.
| Place | Where | Food | Spend |
|---|---|---|---|
| La Casa | ALMA | Italian: pasta, pizza | à la carte |
| Chübeli | Mövenpick | Bavarian: sausages, beer | à la carte |
| Blu Lobster | Radisson Blu | Seafood with Western and Vietnamese preparations | 500,000–1,500,000 VND per person |
| Harbour Restaurant | Amiana Cam Ranh | Hotel restaurant | à la carte |
| Riviera and Swandor buffets | Cam Ranh Riviera, Swandor | International buffet | all-inclusive |
A lot of guests on Bai Dai eat all-inclusive at Swandor, Selectum Noa or Riviera. The buffets have European and Asian sections and are built for package tourists, which means safe, familiar and a bit samey after a week.
If you want something Western and can’t face the drive to Nha Trang, book La Casa at ALMA or Chübeli at Mövenpick through reception. Pasta, pizza, sausages, beer: no surprises.
Nha Trang has the restaurant scene Cam Ranh lacks; the city is covered in our Nha Trang guide.

Markets and supermarkets in Cam Ranh

Markets are a food outing in their own right. Seafood costs 30–50% less than at the resorts, fruit sells at the seasonal price, and you see what people here actually eat. The main market is Chợ Mới Cam Ranh in town, the fish market is at Ba Ngòi port, the night market is K9 near the resorts, and Co.opmart covers anything you want for your room.
Cho Moi Cam Ranh: the main market
- Address: 22/8 street, Cam Ranh town centre (Cam Linh ward, formerly Cam Thuận)
- Hours: early morning to evening, busiest 6–10 am
- What’s there: fruit, seafood, meat, spices, coffee, cooked food, clothes
- Why go: seafood 30–50% cheaper than resort prices
This isn’t a tourist market like Ben Thanh in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s a town market with local prices. Get there by 7 am to see the morning catch and fruit before it’s been picked over. By noon some stalls are packing up.
Worth buying:
- Seasonal fruit: mango, dragon fruit, longan, rambutan, mangosteen
- Fresh seafood: prawns, squid, fish
- Ground coffee: Trung Nguyen, G7, cheaper than duty-free. Robusta versus arabica is explained in our Vietnamese coffee guide
- Dried fruit and nuts for the flight home
Ba Ngoi fish market and K9 night market
Ba Ngòi port, on the south side of town, is where the boats come in. There’s a fish market and a cluster of breakfast stalls where a full meal costs under $2 (about 50,000 VND). Ba Ngòi market also has the rice-noodle-and-offal stall from the table above, and Chi Chi’s banh xeo sets up opposite the fish market in the evening.
K9 night market (Chợ Đêm Cam Lâm K9) sits on Nguyễn Tất Thành road at the K9 turn-off, 4 km from the airport, which puts it right in the resort zone. It’s the closest thing to street food and local-priced seafood near the hotels: grilled prawns and squid, banh can, nem. The Vĩnh Cam Ranh seafood restaurant inside offers free transfers for diners. Bring cash, as not every stall takes cards or QR.
- Banh mi: 20,000–30,000 VND (~$1)
- Grilled squid: 60,000–100,000 VND (~$2.50–4)
- Fresh lime juice: 15,000–25,000 VND
Co.opmart for supplies
Co.opmart Cam Ranh is a big Vietnamese-chain supermarket in the town centre near 22/8 street. Groceries and drinks downstairs, cards accepted at the tills. Go here for water, packaged fruit, instant noodles, coffee and snacks for the room.
If you’re in an apartment or travelling with kids, it’s worth the trip. A basic week’s shop for two (water, fruit, noodles, coffee, chocolate) comes to 800,000–1,200,000 VND (~$31–46). The minimarts near the resorts stock the same things at higher prices.
Market prices

| Item | Price per kg (VND) | USD | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mango | 30,000–60,000 | ~$1–2.50 | "Cat chu" is the sweetest, bright yellow |
| Dragon fruit | 25,000–50,000 | ~$1–2 | Pink flesh is sweeter than white |
| Longan | 50,000–80,000 | ~$2–3 | In season July–September, dearer otherwise |
| Coffee beans (250 g) | 80,000–150,000 | ~$3–6 | Robusta cheaper, arabica dearer |
| Fresh prawns | 250,000–400,000 | ~$10–15 | 30% below resort prices |
| Ground coffee G7/Trung Nguyen (250 g) | 30,000–80,000 | ~$1–3 | Two to three times cheaper than duty-free |
Longan season (July to September) is when locals buy it by the bucket. Mango is best March to June, and the mangoes from neighbouring Cam Lam are famous across the province. Dragon fruit is around all year.
What to bring home beyond coffee and dried fruit is in our Cam Ranh shopping and souvenirs guide.
Food prices in Cam Ranh
Here’s what the same dish costs at three levels: a street cafe, a hotel cafe, and a five-star restaurant. The gap reaches six times for what is more or less the same bowl of pho.
Common dishes at three price levels (VND)
| Dish | Street cafe | Hotel cafe | 5-star restaurant |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beef pho | 35,000 (~$1.50) | 80,000 (~$3) | 200,000 (~$8) |
| Banh mi | 20,000 (~$0.80) | 50,000 (~$2) | 100,000 (~$4) |
| Com tam (broken rice) | 35,000 (~$1.50) | 80,000 (~$3) | 150,000 (~$6) |
| Spring rolls | 30,000 (~$1) | 100,000 (~$4) | 180,000 (~$7) |
| Banh xeo | 30,000 (~$1) | 100,000 (~$4) | 150,000 (~$6) |
| Grilled prawns (portion) | 150,000 (~$6) | 350,000 (~$13) | 500,000 (~$19) |
| Fruit plate | 50,000 (~$2) | 150,000 (~$6) | 250,000 (~$10) |
| Iced coffee with condensed milk | 15,000 (~$0.60) | 50,000 (~$2) | 100,000 (~$4) |
| Fresh juice | 25,000 (~$1) | 70,000 (~$2.50) | 150,000 (~$6) |
| Water, 1.5 L | 10,000 (~$0.40) | 30,000 (~$1) | 60,000 (~$2.50) |
| Local beer | 15,000 (~$0.60) | 50,000 (~$2) | 100,000 (~$4) |
On average, a five-star restaurant charges four to six times the street price. Pho shows the biggest gap: 35,000 against 200,000 VND. Prawns only triple, because seafood is expensive to begin with.
Prices as of September 2026. Seafood prices move with the season, so check on the spot.

Common food mistakes in Cam Ranh
Almost everyone makes a few of these in their first week. Skip half of them and you’ll eat better for less.
1. Expecting "normal food" within walking distance. There are no cheap Western restaurants near the Bai Dai hotels. You get resort restaurants or lagoon seafood places you need a car for. Pasta craving: La Casa at ALMA. Anything else Western: Nha Trang.
2. Not checking the weight. 2,000,000 VND is the price per kilo, and your lobster weighs 800 grams. Confirm the weight and total before it’s cooked. That’s normal practice at every Vietnamese seafood place, not rudeness.
3. Booking a Binh Ba island tour. Tourism on Binh Ba is banned, and the tours sold online are illegal. Eat the lobster on the mainland instead.
4. Drinking tap water. Tap water in Vietnam isn’t meant for drinking. A 1.5-litre bottle costs 10,000 VND in any shop, and hotels usually leave two free bottles a day.
5. Avoiding local cafes. If the tables are full of Vietnamese diners, the food is fresh; high turnover is the best hygiene test there is. An empty place at peak hour is the one to skip.
6. Ordering a Western breakfast at a noodle shop. Fried eggs and toast aren’t their thing. Order what they’re good at: pho, bun ca, banh mi with iced coffee.
7. Counting on your card everywhere. Resorts and bigger restaurants on Bai Dai take Visa and Mastercard. Markets, street stalls and K9 want cash or Vietnamese QR. BIDV and Vietcombank ATMs are in the town centre; check your own bank’s foreign ATM fee.
8. Paying the first price at the market. On fruit and souvenirs the opening price is often 20–30% high, and a polite "no thanks" brings it down. Seafood prices are usually fixed.

Five things worth leaving the resort for
- Binh Ba farmed lobster, 1,000,000–2,500,000 VND per kilo depending on where you buy it
- blood cockles from the Thuy Trieu lagoon, grilled with peanuts
- banh can from clay moulds, evenings on Hùng Vương, 15,000–20,000 VND a plate
- bun ca, fish noodle soup with jellyfish, at breakfast
- bia hoi, fresh draught beer at around 15,000 VND a glass
No. Binh Ba lies inside the Cam Ranh naval base security zone, and Decision 04/2025/QĐ-TTg bans all tourism there, for foreigners and Vietnamese alike. Tours advertised on social media are illegal. You can eat lobster from the same farms on the mainland: at lagoon seafood restaurants, at Atlantis in ALMA, or buy it live on Hùng Vương for 1,000,000–1,500,000 VND per kilo. For raft restaurants, go to Vinh Hy Bay instead
Go early to Chợ Mới Cam Ranh on 22/8 street or the fish market at Ba Ngòi port; the catch lands around 6–8 am. Prices run 30–50% below resort level: prawns 250,000–400,000 VND per kilo, squid 200,000–300,000. Live lobster dealers are on Hùng Vương. Most seafood restaurants will cook what you bring for a fee. Pay in cash
No. Tap water in Vietnam isn’t meant for drinking, even where it’s chlorinated. A 1.5-litre bottle costs 10,000 VND (~$0.40) in a shop and about 30,000 VND at a hotel cafe, and most hotels leave two free bottles a day. Ice in cafes is usually factory-made from treated water. Tea and coffee are fine because the water is boiled
Nothing independent within walking distance, only the restaurants at Mövenpick itself and the neighbouring Radisson and Swandor. Five to fifteen minutes by car you’ll find the K9 night market on Nguyễn Tất Thành road and the Thuy Trieu lagoon seafood restaurants, some with free pickup. For street food, head to Cam Ranh town: 25–30 minutes and 150,000–300,000 VND each way. Inside Mövenpick: Panorama buffet, Chübeli and the Lobby Lounge
Resorts and resort restaurants on Bai Dai take Visa and Mastercard. Town cafes, markets, street stalls and most K9 night market stalls want cash in VND, or a Vietnamese banking QR code that foreign cards can’t use. Withdraw at a BIDV or Vietcombank ATM in town, and carry small notes: 10,000 to 100,000 VND covers nearly everything outside the resorts
The bottom line
Cam Ranh suits people who want a quiet five-star beach rather than Nha Trang’s street-party energy. Food here is either the resort buffet or a small expedition: to the lagoon, to the K9 night market, or into town with a Grab and Google Translate. Pick by temperament. Travelling with kids and want zero effort? Go all-inclusive. Want to taste Vietnam? Plan three or four outings a week.
A week that works: one dinner at Blu Lobster or Atlantis, one at the lagoon with blood cockles, one evening at K9, one morning in town for bun ca and the market. That’s enough to go home and honestly say the food in Cam Ranh was good.
